Can I wear pewter colored shoes and gold jewelry?

Black cashmere turtleneck sweater, silk LSU color purple skirt, and pewter shoes. I want to wear with this outfit a long gold rope chain with a 7 carat amythest drop set in gold? Should I just change the shoes? I LOVE the shoes! And I love the necklace! Torn... HELP!
