Why do people get so upset about a simple life saving procedure?

Don't they understand what the consequences of holding flatulence are? How many old men sitting next to you at the bus stop would simply explode from built up gas? The bone fragment shrapnel and all the pins and plastics holding their bodies together could maim people for several yards around. So next time an old man rips one off, thank him for saving your life. Now are you going to continue to endanger loved ones and strangers or are you going to let 'er rip?
